2008 INFORMATION: Everything is included in the price. The complete package, for NAUI and PADI Open-Water Scuba Diver certification is only $395! If you are a student in the Kingston High School (Spring course only!), currently in the Scouts, an American firefighter, or law enforcement officer the cost is reduced to $375. For 2 or more from one family the price is reduced to $375 for each person. If you are planning on doing the open-water dives elsewhere, and this is made known at the beginning of the course, ninety dollars ($90) may be subtracted from the above prices. There is no charge for the use of equipment, no charge for open-water diving, no tips, etc. You do not have to buy or own anything in order to get certified. The only thing you have to bring is a bathing suit and something to write on!

The State of New York has a yearly fee of $20 per diver to use Minnewaska for Scuba. Each diver will have to pay the fee when first signing up to dive in that year (from ice-out to ice-in). This became effective in April 2006!

The New Paltz classes are kept small, at 10 or less. There is a lot of personal care and attention. Reservations may be made by sending a $50 deposit to 14 Deerpath Drive; New Paltz, NY 12561-2811. If you wish, the deposit may be paid using a credit card (Amex, Discover, MasterCard or Visa) by calling 845-255-7446, or using E-Mail . Be sure to specify which of the courses you are interested in, as well as a second choice.

The minimum age for training is 8. There is no maximum age. (See article below.) From 8-12 there are PADI and NAUI courses. The minimum age for regular certification, Junior Open-Water Scuba Diver is 12. At 15 the diver automatically converts to Open Water Scuba Diver. Some parents are concerned about children breathing high pressure gases underwater. Follow this link to see what the latest information is available from PADI on the subject:  CHILDREN

Scuba courses have been offered by Deep-Six, or the president of Deep-Six, since 1956. The number of students we have certified is substantial! All divers are well-trained. The courses are easy, thorough, and offer you world adventures that are incredible! The NAUI and PADI certifications are life-time, they never have to be renewed, i.e., they never expire!

At Deep-Six we are committed to having you enjoy diving. Ask us any questions and we will be glad to provide you with quick answers. Our phone number is 845-255-7446. Our fax number is: 845-255-2303.

For complete certification as a NAUI or PADI Open Water Scuba Diver 4 open-water dives, and 1 skin dive, are required. These are done in 2 days and are included in the price! We use Lake Mohonk for the first 2 dives and Lake Minnewaska for the last 2.

If you are not a certified scuba diver and are considering taking a course, there are several things to consider:

If you would like to try scuba diving for FREE in the Deep-Six pool, and in season, just call (845-255-7446) or E-Mail for an appointment. In that way you can "try before you buy!"

There is no obligation just because you send an e-mail. We will never put a "hard sell" toward anyone. Deep-Six wants to make divers out of people that want to become certified. Doing anything to the contrary could result in a a serious mistake! Besides, we love to answer questions by e-mail.
