2017 INFORMATION: Everything is included in the price. The complete package, for NAUI and PADI Open-Water Scuba Diver certification is only $395. If you are a member of a local fire department, or a law enforcement officer the cost is reduced to $375. For 2 or more from one family the price is reduced to $375 for each person. If you are getting certified to get the Boy Scouts of America Scuba Merit Badge the cost is $375. If you are planning on doing the open-water dives elsewhere, and this is made known at the beginning of the course, ninety dollars ($90) may be subtracted from the above prices. In the courses offered at Deep-Six there is no charge for the use of equipment, no charge for open-water diving, no tips, etc. You do not have to buy or own anything in order to get certified. The only thing you have to bring is a bathing suit, a device that goes on the Internet (we have free wifi), and something to write on. The fee made be paid with a check or cash.

The State of New York has a yearly fee of $20 per diver to use Minnewaska for scuba diving. Each diver will have to pay the fee when first signing up to dive in that year (from ice-out to ice-in). Depending on the lake's visibility will determine if it will be used for Open Water dives.

If Minnewaska is expected to be unsatisfactory for scuba, we will be doing the 3rd and 4th dives at Dutch Springs in PA or Lake George in NY. We will leave in the morning and be back in the very late afternoon. Dutch Springs charges $39 per diver per day. Lake George is $10/car load. They are beautiful diving spots that are 2 hours away and can accomodate divers. You might want to Google it. ALL Advanced Deep Dives must be done at Dutch Springs until the deep water of Lake Minnewaska is considered safe (clear).

The New Paltz classes are kept small, at 10 or less. There is a lot of personal care and attention. Reservations may be made by sending a $50 deposit to 14 Deerpath Drive; New Paltz, NY 12561-2811. If you wish, the deposit may be paid using a credit card (Amex, Discover, MasterCard or Visa) by calling 845-255-7446, or using E-Mail . Be sure to specify which of the courses you are interested in, as well as a second choice.

The minimum age for training is 10. There is no maximum age. (See article below.) From 10-11 there are PADI and NAUI courses. The minimum age for regular certification, Junior Open-Water Scuba Diver is 10. At 15 the diver automatically converts to Open Water Scuba Diver. Certified divers that are 10 or 11 must dive with a certified parent or guardian or an insured PADI Professional. They have a depth limit of 40'. 12-14 year olds must dive with a certified adult. Some parents are concerned about children breathing high pressure gases underwater. Follow this link to see what the latest information is available from PADI on the subject:  CHILDREN

Scuba courses have been offered by Deep-Six, or the president of Deep-Six, since 1956. The number of students we have certified is substantial. All divers are well-trained. The courses are easy, thorough, and offer you world adventures that are incredible. The NAUI and PADI certifications are life-time, they never have to be renewed, i.e., they never expire. We also have a Boy Scouts of America Scuba Merit Badge Counselor on staff.

At Deep-Six we are committed to having you enjoy diving. Ask us any questions and we will be glad to provide you with quick answers. Our phone number is 845-255-7446. Our fax number is: 845-255-2303.

For complete certification as a NAUI or PADI Open Water Scuba Diver 4 open-water dives, and 1 skin dive, are required. These are done in 2 days and are included in the cost of the course.

If you are not a certified scuba diver and are considering taking a course, there are several things to consider:
